This Department is responsible for coordinating agricultural, irrigation and cooperatives activities. For example, irrigation as an agricultural activities does not depend much on rain. That farmers can engage themselves in agriculture the whole year round. In Newala Town Council there is Chikwedu-Chipamanda irrigation scheme where farmers do farming the whole year and this department is much involved in coordinating all this.
