This is the unit which performs its duties by collaborating with the Town Director. The unit has a lot of duties and responsibilities as explained below.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Internal Auditor
Provide internal consultation, assurance and appraisal to the Town Council
Planning and preparation of audit programs
To ensure proper accountability of all funds provided to LGA
To ensure risks and reviewed, ranked as low/high, mitigation measures and policies are instituted to minimize risks for effective achievement.
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements/public procurement act, other laws and provision of development financial agreement
Ensuring all projects achieves value for money in all expenditures
Preparation of audit report and findings and presented to both National Audit Office (NAOT) and to the Council Director to deliberate required actions to be taken for queries arising during auditing.
